Forget Me Knot gets to work with some amazing and unique couples, and Devin and Rob have such a cool relationship! Devin wrote to tell us all about their relationship and beautiful wedding.
Rob and I are hawkmates!
We met at Saint Joseph’s University as friends among many shared friends who now call us “hawkmates” – two Saint Joseph’s alumni who marry. We had such a fun, bright, and welcoming wedding at The Lake House Inn in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, on Lake Nockamixon.
We had visited there the summer after our engagement and just knew it was the perfect place for our wedding, elegance blended with nature. Even better, our family and friends could stay at the Inn with us making the weekend a giant sleepover with our favorite people. We truly felt at home thanks to all our wonderful vendors.
My style with the lake and Inn were the inspiration for my beautiful strapless wedding gown (Maison Signore from Kleinfeld Bridal). I didn’t want to take it off and stayed in it well into the morning hours as we hung out at the after party and fire pit. The embellished top and simple dress were romantic and sparkly like the lake and gorgeous view. The full length lace train felt romantic as we let loose on the dance floor with our friends and family.
My parents, and Rob’s, are such an inspiration to our marriage. It meant a lot to me to carry a piece of their wedding on our special day: I wore a pearl bracelet made with a pearl from a necklace my Father gave my Mother on their wedding day, 35 years ago. This has become a treasured family tradition as my sister also wore this bracelet on her wedding day.
For this pair of happy hawkmates, our wedding weekend was our wedding vision come to life.
Congratulations, Devin and Robert!
