Mackenzie and Joseph’s April Wedding at Renault Winery Resort

Almost every couple that planned their wedding for 2020 can relate to the gut-wrenching decisions that had to be made, like changing the date of their wedding once, twice and sometimes several times. High school sweethearts, Joseph and Mackenzie’s original date of April 25, 2020 was very important to them, as it was chosen to honor Mackenzie’s grandparent’s 66th wedding anniversary. In the end, due to Covid lockdown restrictions, they were forced to move their wedding date up to April 22, 2021.

Wedding at Renault Winery Resort

With restrictions still strict in Philadelphia, even their choice of venue, originally the WaterWorks, had to be changed. Just 35 days out they made the tough decision to choose a different venue. They chose Renault Winery Resort in New Jersey. They wanted their wedding to be romantic and whimsical and full of love.  It turned out to be all that and more!

It was important to them that their guests see the love they shared and to have a great time.  Looking around the room, they could see and feel all the love from their family and friends that surrounded them. They love a good party and wanted their guests to have a great time. To that end, they made sure that everyone danced the night away and enjoyed themselves. Not an issue… after a year of lockdown everyone was ready to party. The dance floor was packed!

The bride’s gown, from The Lovely Bride in Philadelphia, was chosen to compliment her personality. The whimsical gown was everything she wanted. It was important to Mackenzie that she look like herself on her wedding day.

After all is said and done, Mackenzie and Joseph say that even through all the moments of stress, sadness and uncertainty, they were thrilled with the way everything turned out.  They came to realize what’s really important… their love for each other and the health and safety of their family and friends. And by the way… they still found a way to honor that original date that meant so much to them by having a mini commitment ceremony with their family and bridal party held at Mackenzie’s parents’ home.
Grateful that they finally got to tie the knot, they say they had the best day ever.
