It all started with these two. Christina and Justin were married in May 2016 at The College of Physicians in the garden on a most gorgeous spring night, surrounded by family and friends.
A month before the wedding, in wrapping up last minute details, we talked about what would happen with the ‘still beautiful’ wedding flowers at the end of the night…they suggested donating them – saving from the dumpster and also to bring joy to others in nursing homes. We all loved this idea!
Over the weekend, the florals were re-styled into bedside bouquets and tagged with Christina & Justin’s names. As they were being driven to the local nursing home, we were thinking what a nice gesture this was, in allowing others to enjoy the beauty of these so pretty flowers. We were happy to make this lovely ‘act of kindness,’ in remembering others as we acknowledge our own blessings.
However, upon arriving and personally delivering each small vase to every resident, we noticed how their faces became alive and so full of joy and gratitude came spilling out of their hearts. We knew at this point, that this kind of unique and important gesture had to be continued and the ’seed’ for Forget Me Knot Flowers was planted!
To connect with others with a small but beautiful gesture has a huge impact on those needing an emotional boost, making the direction of their day be on the side of love and happiness. We are so grateful for Christina and Justin’s generous gift of wanting to give back and be charitable as they started their married lives together. We are forever grateful to this beautiful couple.
